STOP PRESS!
Thank you to those schools who have emailed us their participation numbers for the Schools Pledge. Our calculations show that we have broken the World Record for The Largest Dance Lesson (multi-venue). However we really need your paper evidence as detailed here so that we can send it to Guinness and receive their confirmation. We will update you on the website in the coming weeks.
Big Dance 2010 invited everyone to do 20 minutes of extra dance or physical activity each day in Big Dance week and to participate in a Guinness World Record attempt at 1pm on Friday 9 July by taking part in a 30 minute dance lesson on their school site.
Over 650 schools signed up to take part including schools in The Lebanon, India and Sri Lanka as part of the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms programme.
If your school took part in the world record attempt you need to do the following:-
It is essential that you go back into your original sign up record and edit the actual numbers taking part.
Click here and follow the instructions.
You should then email schoolspledgerecord@bigdance2010.com with your school name and total number of participants.
You can download your participation certificate here:
· You will need to keep evidence that you have complied with the world record rules.
· You will need to send us the handwritten original statements from the supervisors and overall witness who will confirm the exact and final number of participants at your venue.
· You should also attach a photo, representative of your numbers, to confirm your evidence. This should be posted to: Anne Hartley, Big Dance Co-ordinator, Arts Council England, 14 Great Peter Street, London, SW1P 3NQ as soon as possible after the 9th July.
· Please also email us a photo which we can use on the website.
A list of participating schools will be posted on the website.
